she forgot to manage time, but remembered that...
So goes the theme of my Monday. It seems that the pile of reading on my desk is growing like mold on a warm, moist day. It’s disgusting. It’s unfortunate. It won’t stop.
I’ve calmed my anxiety attacks since last year—I’ve correlated my growing comfortableness with the city to the level of anxiety I’ve experienced in the past year and a half. As I grow to...

she's only truly happy in the sunshine.
I saw some real rays streaming down today—felt them too. They warmed me right up, but once I stepped into the shadow of a building it was back to stiff hands and icy cheeks…
Woke up at 8:00 am. Cooked Irish Steel Cut Oats for breakfast with a little bit of brown sugar. Went to work in the nursery (it was only little Gabriella today). Walked home. Had salad and baked chicken for lunch....

Streams and Rivers
In my head, I see a great river laid out before me, with deep waters and strong tides. Especially after yesterday’s ridiculously PACKED schedule…seeing people, meeting people, making money, slightly unpacking, etc….I feel fine.
Waking up early helps; it’s calm, quiet, and...

Back at the home away from home...
My plane landed at 5:00 a.m. at JFK, I gathered my belongings and took the train back to Manhattan…got to the apartment around 6:20 am. Washed my face, brushed my teeth, had a run-in with Alex who’d woken up to pour a glass of water, and then slept soundly until 11:00 am.
I woke up and Julie Smith, my friend from back home, came over with a Soy Chai Latte for me and a coffee for...

If someone were to ask
what I’d been up to all of winter break, I’d reply that I practiced the art of hermit-like tendencies and that I spent most of my free-floating money on new books and old clothes.
I’ve read a lot: novels, magazine articles, blogs, photobooks. I’ve begun painting again. I’ve also been watching more films than I can keep track of. I blame Netflix’s instant play,...
